NELFUND releases over N385 loan to 3,927 students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has announced the disbursement of more than N385,017,400 million in student loans to beneficiaries in four tertiary institutions, reinforcing the federal government’s commitment to accessible education in Nigeria, Lapalabras reports.

The announcement, made via the official NELFUND X handle on Monday, details five separate funding tranches aimed at alleviating financial burdens and ensuring educational access for Nigerian students.

The post also revealed the figures, students from the four universities and polytechnic got financially.

According to the post titled, ‘Disbursement Announcement’, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri received – N453,000 for 15 students, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka got N50,410,000 for 380 students while Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara were paid the sum of N34,650,350 for 577 students.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta was paid N133,995,450 for 1,317 students – a first installment while the institution received another N165,508,600 for 1,638 students for second installment.

The disbursement is part of an ongoing initiative aimed at easing financial burdens on students and ensuring continued access to higher education.

NELFUND has urged students to check with their respective institutions for confirmation and further details on accessing their funds.

This latest round of funding reflects the government’s broader efforts to support tertiary education and improve financial accessibility for students across the country.
