The Super Eagles of Nigeria have intensified their preparations ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zimbabwe, scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Head coach Eric Chelle has implemented strict camp restrictions, barring visitors and journalists to ensure maximum concentration from the players.
Following their recent victory over Rwanda, Chelle remains focused on maintaining the team’s momentum.
As part of the preparation, Sunday’s training session is closed to the public and media.
On Monday, the team will hold an official press conference, after which a 15-minute open training session will be allowed.
Additionally, a mixed zone will be available for player interactions on match day.
Nigeria is under pressure to secure a win, having drawn three and lost one in their last four qualifiers.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, is confident of causing an upset, with head coach Michael Nees stating that the Super Eagles are “beatable in Uyo.”
With both teams eager to revive their World Cup qualification hopes, the match is expected to be a fiercely contested encounter.
