Fulani Herdsmen Ambush Soldiers, Kill Seven in Benue Community

A wave of panic has swept through Jato Aka town in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State following an attack by armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, March 19, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including two security officers. According to sources, the assailants ambushed Nigerian Army personnel who were on a rescue mission to free abducted residents from the outskirts of the town.

During the confrontation, two army officers were killed, while several others sustained injuries. One officer remains missing as security operatives continue search efforts. The injured personnel have been taken to NKST Hospital Jato Aka for medical treatment.

The attack has heightened tensions in the community, with residents fearing further violence. Authorities are yet to release an official statement, but security reinforcements are expected in the area as investigations continue.
