The Canadian International Development Scholarships
The Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) program provides quality education and training opportunities in Canada, including vocational and technical training. The program aims to increase access to higher education and strengthen social and economic development in the 26 BCDI 2030 eligible countries.

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this eight-year program (2022-2030) is tailored to the needs of partner countries and focuses on priority areas linked to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program’s main objective is to reduce inequalities and support improvements in the lives of participants and their communities.

Approximately 600 scholars from partner countries will receive study and training scholarships in Canada, with at least 51% of them being women. The BCDI 2030 Scholars will acquire skills, knowledge and experience that will help them evolve in the job market and become agents of change in their communities. Upon return, the scholars will contribute to the social and economic development of their countries.

Eligibility
Eligibility for the BCDI 2030 program is not on an individual basis, but through a project partnership established between a Canadian higher education institution (HEI) and an HEI from one of the 26 eligible countries. Canadian HEIs and partners whose projects are to be funded will themselves launch the call for applications for scholarships in Canada and select the recipients. This selection will be based on selection criteria established by the participating HEIs, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the BCDI 2030 program and the admission criteria for study programs.

Application process
Individuals cannot apply directly to the BCDI 2030 program. Candidates must apply to our international partners.
