‘You’ll Always Be My Friend’ – Tinubu Celebrates Osinbajo on 68th Birthday

Date:

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 68th birthday, describing him as a longtime friend, associate, and a dedicated public servant.

Tinubu’s message was conveyed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday. The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu Hails Longtime Associate, Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at 68,’ highlighted Osinbajo’s contributions to governance and nation-building.

“Professor Yemi Osinbajo will always remain my friend and associate,” Tinubu stated, recalling how Osinbajo worked closely with former President Muhammadu Buhari between 2015 and 2023 to implement key infrastructural and governance reforms.

The President particularly commended Osinbajo for his role as Acting President during Buhari’s medical leave, acknowledging his leadership and legal expertise.

As a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State under Tinubu’s governorship, Osinbajo played a key role in driving judicial and political reforms, the statement noted.

Tinubu also recognized Osinbajo’s decision to contest against him for the APC presidential ticket in 2023, emphasizing that he exercised his democratic rights freely.

The President joined Osinbajo’s family, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating his achievements and wished him many more years of success and good health.
