The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh on Monday, assured Nigerians of the federal government’s readiness to create a modern, innovation driven economy.
He said this during the ministerial briefing which was held in Abuja, and attended by the media and other critical stakeholders.
Senator Enoh revealed that the government inauguration of the Industrial Revolution Work Group (IRWG) marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s industrial sector.
The group, which is more of a task force, he said, would revolutionize the country’s industrial sector by identifying potential risks and challenges, and enabling proactive risk assessment and mitigation measures.
He also disclosed that by analyzing industry trends, the IRWG will provide predictive results to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
This he said would create a scalable impact on the economy, driving growth and creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals.”
The IRWG was created to align with the Presidential Council on Industrial Revitalization Roadmap, established in October 2023. Its mandate is to drive economic transformation through strategic policy development, stakeholder engagement, and consistent implementation.
The President Bola Tinubu led administration has emphasised that industrialization remains a central driver of economic growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The policy is built on collaboration between the government, private sector, and academia, and is measured by tangible outcomes like factory reopenings, job creation, and increased economic prosperity.
