The Acting Vice-Chancellor approved the committee’s recommendation for expulsion on behalf of the University Senate.

“The expulsion takes immediate effect,” the statement read. “You are expected to vacate the university premises immediately and return any university property in your possession.”

The university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for violence and misconduct, underscoring its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for students and staff.

The expulsion notice was also sent to key university officials, including the Dean of Student Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, the Chief Legal Officer, and the Chief Safety Officer.

This incident highlights the university’s firm stance on upholding disciplinary standards and protecting the integrity of its academic community.
