2face Missing Since February 10, Family Suspects Foul Play

Date:

The family of Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face or 2Baba, has declared him missing and petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) for assistance in locating him.

In a petition dated February 7 and signed by their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the Idibia family expressed deep concern over 2Baba’s disappearance since February 10. According to the family, the singer left his residence that morning in his loungewear for what appeared to be his routine walk but never returned.

“Despite extensive efforts by family members, staff, and management of his record label to reach or locate him, all attempts have been unsuccessful. We have contacted his close friends and acquaintances, yet no one has seen or heard from him in over 72 hours,” the petition read.

The family emphasized that this behavior is uncharacteristic of 2Baba, noting that he has never gone missing or abandoned his work without notifying those around him.

The Idibia family revealed that several of 2Baba’s close friends had received alarming messages from his social media accounts requesting financial assistance. They believe his identity may have been compromised and that he could be a victim of abduction.

“Mr. Innocent is financially independent and has never required assistance in such a manner,” the family stated. “The possibility of foul play or coercion cannot be overlooked. His family is deeply worried about his physical safety and the potential misuse of his identity while he remains unaccounted for.”

The family urged the DSS to launch an investigation and leverage its resources to locate and rescue 2Baba. They highlighted the singer’s significance as a national figure and his impact on millions of fans.

“It is worthy of note that the victim is a legend and a role model to countless youths. His disappearance has left his family, children, and musical empire in turmoil,” the petition concluded.

Amid concerns about his whereabouts, a viral video on Thursday showed 2Baba proposing to Edo State House of Assembly lawmaker Natasha Osaruwa, just hours after reports of his planned divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.

In a separate video, 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, pleaded with Nigerians to help locate her son. She specifically appealed to Natasha Osaruwa, asking her to release him, adding that her son had not been himself lately.

The DSS is yet to release an official statement regarding the investigation. Fans and well-wishers have taken to social media, calling for 2Baba’s safe return.
