Nigeria Set to Launch E-Visa System on March 1

Date:

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that its revised visa policy, featuring an E-Visa and a fully digital end-to-end application process, will officially launch on March 1, 2025. This initiative aims to simplify the visa process and unlock the country’s economic potential by fostering increased tourism and business opportunities.

The new E-Visa system will allow travelers to apply for Nigerian visas online, eliminating the need for physical visits to embassies. Authorities have promised a seamless, secure, and user-friendly platform that will streamline the process from application to approval.

According to officials, the initiative is a key part of Nigeria’s strategy to attract foreign investment, promote tourism, and enhance the ease of doing business in the country.

“We are meticulously ensuring that every detail is addressed to deliver a seamless, secure, and safe solution,” a government spokesperson said in a statement.

With Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, natural attractions, and growing business opportunities, the new visa policy is expected to position the country as a more accessible destination for international travelers and investors.

Industry experts have lauded the initiative, describing it as a game-changer for the country’s economy. They noted that the simplified process will reduce delays, cut down on paperwork, and ultimately encourage more visitors and investors to choose Nigeria.

The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring the new policy rollout is smooth and efficient, promising continuous improvements and safeguards to maintain security and protect applicants’ information.

As March 1 approaches, stakeholders are optimistic that the E-Visa launch will significantly improve Nigeria’s global standing and contribute to its long-term economic growth.
