Taye Taiwo Inducted into Olympique Marseille’s Hall of Fame

Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been honored with a place in Olympique Marseille’s prestigious Hall of Fame, cementing his status as one of the club’s all-time greats.

Taiwo, renowned for his powerful left foot and attacking prowess from the fullback position, became a fan favorite during his six-year spell at the French club. His dynamic performances and crucial goals played a pivotal role in Marseille’s success, including winning the Ligue 1 title in the 2009-10 season and securing the Coupe de la Ligue three times.

Having made over 200 appearances for Marseille, Taiwo’s passion and commitment on the pitch earned him admiration from both teammates and supporters. His marauding runs down the flank and trademark long-range strikes are still fondly remembered by fans at the Stade Vélodrome.
