Date:

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has successfully rescued Mrs. Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, from kidnappers and neutralized the assailants.

Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on Friday at her residence in Arepo, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, by four armed kidnappers who stormed the area, firing gunshots. The criminals seized her as she was about to enter her home and forcibly dragged her from her LEXUS Jeep. They then transported her through swampy terrain to an unknown location.

Following the incident, the Nigerian Police sprang into action, launching a rescue operation. According to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police neutralized the kidnappers during the operation and successfully recovered the ransom they had demanded.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has commended the swift response of the police operatives and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, for their role in securing the rescue.

ACP Adejobi also emphasized the police’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding citizens and combating insecurity across the country. More details of the rescue operation will be released at a later time.

This successful operation comes as a significant victory in the fight against kidnapping and criminal activities in the region.
