BREAKING: NSC Directs Immediate Posting of Secretary-Generals

Date:

The National Sports Commission has approved the immediate posting of Secretary-Generals to various National Sports Federations, according to a circular signed by Deputy Director Bello Ahmed.

This comes after Lapalabras had reported the story on Monday.

The directive, titled “Posting of Sports Officers/Secretary-Generals to National Sports Federations on SGL 08-16,” stated that the Director-General has sanctioned the changes and attached a detailed list of affected officers.

The circular instructed the Federation Establishment and Appointment Department to ensure compliance with the posting directives.

Affected officers are required to report to the Director of Human Resources Management without delay.

The NSC emphasised the urgency of the directive, warning that failure to adhere to the posting instructions would contravene public service rules and attract appropriate sanctions.

The directive underscores the Commission’s commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of sports federations nationwide.

One of the notable Secretary Generals who was redeployed is the Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Rita Mosindi.

Mosindi was recommended for sanction for her misconduct in the setback suffered by sprinter Favour Ofili during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris
by a seven-man committee constituted by former sports minister John Enoh.
