CP Danladi Disbands Unit, Reinforces Zero-Tolerance for Police Misconduct in Abia

Date:

The Abia State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police (CP) Danladi Isa, has disbanded its Anti-Cultism Unit following allegations of unprofessional conduct and incivility towards the public. The move underscores the command’s commitment to accountability and fostering public trust in law enforcement, ABN TV reports.

In a related disciplinary action, Corporal Okonkwo Ebuka, assigned to the Aba Area Command and on special duty in Isuochi, was demoted to the rank of constable after being found guilty of discreditable and unprofessional behavior in an orderly room trial.

ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, released a statement highlighting CP Danladi Isa’s zero-tolerance policy for police misconduct. The Commissioner reaffirmed the Force’s dedication to professionalism, service, and adherence to the rule of law, aligning with the Inspector General of Police’s vision for a more people-friendly and service-driven police force.

The Command urged the public to report any cases of unprofessional behavior by officers to the Complaint Response Unit via 09031593827. These measures aim to strengthen the bond between the police and the public while ensuring that erring officers are held accountable.
