Speaking during his unveiling ceremony on Saturday, Umar explained that his decision to join Valencia was influenced by his conversation with Mikel, where he learned about the club’s current struggles and ambitions.

“First of all, what made me come here was my conversation with Mikel,” Umar said.

“He (Mikel) explained to me how desperate they are and with my situation, I have a lot of hunger in me and I understand Valencia also has a lot of hunger because of the club is situation.

“What I need and what Valencia need is the same so that is what convinced me.”

He noted that he and the club are hungry for success, making the move a perfect fit.

Despite their current challenges, Umar also expressed confidence in Valencia’s potential to rise back to their rightful place in Spanish football.

Sadiq UmarHe praised the team’s fighting spirit, particularly in their recent match against Real Madrid, where they were unlucky not to secure any points.

“The situation of Valencia now is not the normal position that they used to be but with the hunger they have recently like we saw yesterday (against Real Madrid), the team (Valencia) was only unlucky not to go with any point,” he said.
