A tragic incident has unfolded in Cross River State, where a young man is accused of killing his mother, Justina Amunde, and hiding her body in a deep well. The heartbreaking event took place on Sunday, 29th December 2024, in the Chairman Road area of Ohong Community, located in the Obudu Local Government Area.
According to reports shared on social media, the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, allegedly attacked his mother shortly after she returned from church. Witnesses claim that the young man tied his mother up with the help of an accomplice before throwing her into the well.
In a disturbing video posted on Facebook by Okoi Promise, members of the community are seen pulling the lifeless body of Justina Amunde from the well, confirming the chilling nature of the crime. A local resident recounted the events, stating that the suspect had threatened the housemaid, warning her not to speak out or he would kill her as well.
In a desperate attempt to silence the housemaid, the suspect reportedly took her on a motorcycle, possibly intending to harm her further. However, the situation took a turn when a vigilant member of the community intercepted the pair. The housemaid, once safe, revealed the details of the horrific crime.
