Osimhen’s Multi-Million Naira Lamborghini gets Martins blessings

Date:

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen celebrated his 26th birthday on Sunday by acquiring a green Lamborghini Urus, reportedly worth between N371.9 million and N422 million at the exchange rate in Nigerian currency.

The luxurious vehicle, hailed as the world’s first super sport utility vehicle, was blessed by former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins.

In Yoruba, Martins said, “You will not have an accident with this car, you will grow old in good health and wealth. You won’t suffer injuries and you will always stay on top.”

In a video that surfaced online, Martins was seen praying for Osimhen in front of the car.

The former Inter Milan star sipped from a glass before handing it to Osimhen, who followed suit. This gesture aligns with a common Nigerian tradition of sipping over newly acquired property.

Osimhen’s birthday was widely celebrated across the football world. The Super Eagles’ official X handle led the tributes, calling him the country’s joint second all-time highest goal scorer.

“Happy birthday to immediate past Africa Player Of The Year, Victor James Osimhen. We wish you all the best today and always, Vic,” the post read.

The Confederation of African Football also extended their wishes, describing him as the 2023 CAF Player of the Year.

French club Lille, where Osimhen scored 13 goals in 27 appearances during the 2019-2020 season, celebrated their former player with a post on X calling him “the King Victor Osimhen.”

Additionally, Napoli, Osimhen’s parent club, shared a specially designed birthday message, while Galatasaray, where he is currently on loan, posted his picture along with heartfelt wishes.

“Today is our football player Victor Osimhen’s birthday! Happy birthday,” Galatasaray wrote.

Osimhen has been in stellar form during his loan spell in Turkey, recording 12 goals and four assists in 15 games across all competitions for Galatasaray this season.

Osimhen is expected ack in action when Galatasaray host Istanbul Başakşehir in a Turkish Cup group game on January 8.

Galatasaray top the Turkish Super Lig standings with 44 points from 16 games.
