Clubs told to pay Osimhen’s €70m release clause, €11m per season wage demands

Date:

Fabrizio Romano has provided key insights into Victor Osimhen’s potential move during the January transfer window.

Although the Nigerian striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, there remains significant interest from top clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, who are keen to secure his services.

Osimhen, who has been in exceptional form for Galatasaray, scoring 12 goals and contributing five assists in 15 games across all competitions, was previously linked with a €130m move in the summer.

However, that hefty release clause proved a major obstacle. While he is committed to completing his loan spell in Turkey, Romano suggests that a January transfer could still be possible — though not without significant challenges.

According to Romano, for any club to sign Osimhen in January, they would need to trigger his updated release clause of €70m in his Napoli contract, despite his loan situation at Galatasaray.

Additionally, they would need to meet his high wage demands, reportedly around €11m net per season.

“I’m not aware of concrete talks taking place, despite links with Manchester United. The situation remains quiet at the moment; the only way to change it is to trigger the clause into his Napoli contract (he’s on loan at Galatasaray) and also reach an agreement on a salary close to €11m net per season. Not an easy one,” Fabrizio wrote.

Romano said that, while interest in Osimhen remains high, no concrete talks have yet taken place, and such a move would not be straightforward.

If the interested clubs — Manchester United, PSG, or Chelsea—want to make this happen, they would need to act quickly and be willing to negotiate the financial aspects.

However, with January moves looking increasingly unlikely, it seems that clubs might have to wait until the summer to secure the striker’s signature.

As the situation currently stands, unless one of the interested parties takes immediate action, Osimhen’s future may remain in limbo until the next transfer window.
