Man Utd in Contact with Osimhen’s Camp, Napoli Demand £62m

Date:

Manchester United have initiated contact with the representatives of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, signaling their intent to secure the Napoli forward during the upcoming transfer window. Sources close to the negotiations confirm that personal terms with the 25-year-old are not expected to pose a hurdle.

However, the main challenge lies in reaching an agreement with Napoli, as the Serie A club reportedly values Osimhen at approximately £62 million. Despite the steep asking price, United are said to be seriously considering the move, reflecting their ambition to bolster their attacking options.

Osimhen has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, helping Napoli clinch their first Serie A title in over three decades during the 2022/23 season. His pace, strength, and clinical finishing make him a prime target for several top clubs across the continent.

Manchester United, under Erik ten Hag’s management, are keen to address their inconsistent goal-scoring form this season. Osimhen’s arrival would provide the Red Devils with a significant boost, offering the dynamic presence upfront they have been searching for.

Napoli, while open to negotiations, are expected to stand firm on their valuation, which could make the deal a drawn-out affair. Both clubs will likely explore creative payment structures or add-ons to bridge the financial gap.

United fans eagerly await further developments, hoping the club can secure a deal for the Nigerian international, who could be a transformative signing at Old Trafford.
