Fury and Usyk to share £150m in epic Rematch

Date:

The rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is set to break records this weekend, with the two heavyweight giants set to split a massive purse. Following a controversial split-decision victory over Fury in May, Usyk, now the undisputed heavyweight champion, will face Fury again in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for what promises to be an electrifying showdown.

The official purse for the fight has not been confirmed, but reports suggest that the total payout could reach £150 million—an increase of £35 million compared to their first encounter. The purse split is expected to be more favorable to Usyk this time around, as he enters the ring as the defending champion and is seen as the “A-side” of the event.

In their first fight, Fury earned a staggering £85 million, with the purse split at 70-30 in his favor. Usyk, however, still pocketed around £30 million for his efforts, alongside his heavyweight belts. Given the success of previous high-profile events in Saudi Arabia, both fighters are in line for an even more lucrative payday this time.

As anticipation builds for the rematch, the pay-per-view costs for the event have also been announced. The fight will be broadcast live across multiple platforms, including DAZN PPV, TNT Sports Box Office, and Sky Sports Box Office, with prices ranging from £24.95 to £24.99.

This colossal payout further underscores the immense commercial appeal of Fury and Usyk, whose rematch is set to cap off a thrilling year for heavyweight boxing. With the fighters both hungry for victory, fans can expect fireworks as the Gypsy King looks to avenge his first-ever professional loss and reclaim his titles.
