SJF to Empower 10 Start-ups

Date:

The Sports Journalists Forum is set to empower 10 Nigerian journalists with small-scale businesses or innovative ideas through soft loans, marking the group’s seventh annual end-of-year celebration on December 21 in Lagos.

This initiative aims to support members in overcoming financial challenges and fostering entrepreneurial growth, with each recipient receiving a loan to advance their business ventures.

In addition to the financial support, outstanding members will be recognized across 10 categories, with winners receiving N50,000, a certificate, and a jersey from any Nigerian football club.

Godwin Enakhena, the group’s administrator, said the importance of entrepreneurship for journalists, especially in light of the current economic challenges.

“Life is more than being a journalist,” Enakhena said.

“We want to empower our members to live decent lives and stay afloat by supporting their business ideas.”

The event will also provide an opportunity for members to relax and recharge, as SJF looks forward to another successful year.
