Victor Osimhen scored his 10th goal of the season as Galatasaray overcame a goal deficit and a red card to defeat Sivasspor 3-2 in Turkish Super Lig match week 15 on Sunday.
The victory, at the Yeni 4 Eylul Stadi in Sivas, extended Galatasaray’s lead over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce to six points.
Osimhen’s decisive goal came in first-half added time (45+9), putting Galatasaray ahead after Yunus Akgün equalised earlier in the 25th minute. Sivasspor initially led through Garry Rodrigues’ opener.
Despite playing with 10 men following Metehan Baltacı’s 15th-minute red card, Galatasaray secured a critical win.
The 25-year-old Nigerian, on loan from Serie A’s Napoli, has achieved the milestone of scoring at least 10 goals per season for seven consecutive years, starting from his breakout 2018/19 campaign with 20 goals in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League.
Osimhen’s scoring record includes 18 goals in the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season with Lille before moving to Napoli.
In Italy, he tallied 10 goals in his first season, 18 in his second, and a career-high 31 last season, which included 26 Serie A goals that inspired Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.
His consistency highlights his role as one of the most prolific Nigerian forwards in European football.
