Delta State has been declared safe and fully prepared to host the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA 2026), scheduled for February 7 to 14, 2026, in Asaba, the state capital.
The endorsement followed a two-day strategic conference and facility inspection conducted in Asaba by the Force Sports Planning Committee, led by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Fom Pam Joseph.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, the Nigeria Police Force assured athletes, officials and members of the public that preparations for the games are progressing smoothly.
According to the statement, the conference and inspection exercise were aimed at fine-tuning operational strategies, logistics and inter-agency coordination ahead of the sporting event.
Members of the committee carried out extensive inspections of designated sporting facilities, assessing infrastructure, safety standards, logistics and overall suitability for athletes and officials expected from police commands and formations nationwide.
Senior police officers at the conference included AIG Suleiman Abdul, CP Dantawaye Miller, CP Hassan Gwani, CP Osifo Emefiele, and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, alongside other members of the Force Sports Planning Committee.
The statement noted that key issues relating to venue readiness, security arrangements, accommodation, transportation, medical services and general logistics were thoroughly reviewed, with emphasis on delivering a seamless and professionally coordinated sporting festival.
It added that the Force Sports Planning Committee reaffirmed its commitment to hosting a safe, orderly and successful BIPOGA 2026, assuring participants and the public that all preparations remain on course.
