I’m Alive and Well – Salawa Abeni Dismisses Death Rumours

Date:

Veteran singer and Queen of Waka music, Salawa Abeni, has debunked rumours of her death, assuring fans and well-wishers that she is alive, healthy, and doing well.

Abeni, who rose to fame in the 1970s, made the clarification in a video shared on her Instagram page, where she briefly sang and reaffirmed her good health. She expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and supporters both in Nigeria and abroad for their love and concern over the circulating reports.

“My family, friends, and fans home and abroad. Thank you so much for your love and concern. I am alive, hail, and hearty. Please disregard all the rumours. Some blogs will do the unthinkable just to trend. It is rather shameful. The Queen is fine and doing very well. May God bless you all,” she said.

Abeni attributed the false reports to some blogs seeking online attention, describing the act as shameful and misleading.

The legendary singer, who made history as the first Yoruba female artist to sell over a million copies of an album with her debut release, reassured fans that she remains active and in good spirits despite the rumours.

Related reports show that Abeni continues to make headlines not just for her music but also for her personal milestones, including family celebrations and public appearances.
