Onuachu ruled out of Aston Villa clash

Date:

Super Eagles striker,Paul Onuachu, has been ruled out of Southampton’s Premier League match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Nigerian forward suffered fatigue during Southampton’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool last week, which led to him being substituted in the 52nd minute.

Although Onuachu impressed fans with his performance in his first start for the club this season, he will miss another week of action according to a report on the club’s website.

“Missing a host of players on Wednesday night, Saints will welcome back suspended trio Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Flynn Downes and Tyler Dibling for this weekend’s trip.

“They will lose captain Jack Stephens however, who starts the first of a four-game ban having been sent off against Chelsea for an off-the-ball incident.

“Aaron Ramsdale remains sidelined with a finger injury with Paul Onuachu ruled out for another week.”

In addition to Onuachu’s absence, Southampton will also be without captain Jack Stephens, who is serving the first game of a four-match ban after his red card against Chelsea.

However, the club will welcome back suspended players Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Flynn Downes, and Tyler Dibling for the trip to Villa Park.

Despite not having scored or assisted in his 19 appearances for Southampton, Onuachu continues to shine with his technical skills and has been nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award for one of his stunning goals with Trabzonspor.
