The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has debunked widespread reports that it has 10,000 job openings, describing the claim as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Taiwo Hassan, the Commission clarified that only 2,130 vacancies are available under its recently concluded online recruitment exercise, which ended on March 17, 2025.
“The attention of the Federal Civil Service Commission has been drawn to a publication circulating on conventional and online media, which stated that the Commission’s available vacancies were 10,000. This is not true,” the statement read.
The FCSC urged the public to disregard the misinformation and warned applicants to rely solely on official sources for verified recruitment information.
It also disclosed that the shortlisting process has been completed, and that successful applicants selected for the next phase—the Computer-Based Test (CBT)—would soon be contacted.
“The names of shortlisted candidates will be published through various media platforms and on our official website: www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng,” the Commission said.
The FCSC reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability in the recruitment process and advised applicants not to fall prey to false publications or unauthorized sources.
The clarification comes amid heightened interest in federal employment opportunities, with many Nigerians eager for updates on civil service recruitment.
