The Lagos State Judiciary has rolled out a fully digitised electronic affidavit (e-affidavit) system, making it possible for citizens to swear affidavits online for purposes such as change of name, SIM loss, declaration of age, and more.
The innovation, introduced under the Lagos State Court Management Information System (Lagos CoMiS), took effect on June 1, 2025, and is part of ongoing efforts to streamline court processes and improve service delivery through digital transformation.
In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja Branch, Kayode Agbedejobi, Esq., AICMC, it was announced that all general affidavits must now be processed exclusively via the Lagos CoMiS platform: https://lagoscomis.lagosjudiciary.gov.ng.
“This directive excludes affidavits used in litigation at the High Court, which shall continue under the existing manual process,” the statement clarified.
E-affidavits generated on the Lagos CoMiS platform are legally binding, properly notarized, and managed by authorized professionals within the judiciary. Payments for court fees can be made online via debit or credit cards, with alternative payment options available.
The judiciary has also released a step-by-step guide for users:

The move aligns with the Lagos judiciary’s broader commitment to digitization and the wider vision of improving access to justice for all Lagosians.
