Senate Hails Elimination of Boko Haram/ISWAP Leader, Abu Fatima

The Senate through its committee on Army has described the elimination of terrorist leader, Abu Fatima, as a severe blow to the terrorist organisation.
The lawmakers also said that the action would boost citzens confidence, and reinforce their trust in the military`s ability to protect them.
Abu Fatima was killed in a precision strike during a gun fight with Special Forces under Operation HADIN KAI who were on counter-terrorism operation in Kukawa, Borno State.
Authorities had placed a N100 million bounty on the notorious outlaw.
According to the Senate Committee, the elimination of the Boko Haram/ISWAP leader and his lieutenants mark a significant milestone in “our collective fight against insurgency.”
The panel said the “victory is a testament to the bravery and dedication of our troops who have steadfastly remained in the forefront. The successful operation demonstrates the military’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security in the North East.”
The committee Chairman, Sen. Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, in a statement on Saturday applauded what he described as “the strategic planning, intelligence gathering, and execution that led to this outcome, which was achieved without any casualties on our side,” as he urged security agencies to maintain the momentum, ensuring that insurgents are relentlessly pursued and dismantled.
“I congratulate the Chief of Army Staff and the entire Nigerian Army on this achievement. The Senate Committee on Army reaffirms her support for our gallant troops and pledge to continue working towards enhancing their capabilities. Together, we will triumph over terrorism and secure a brighter future for our nation,” he added.
