The Acting National Chairman of Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, on Tuesday called for collective efforts towards building a society where honesty is encouraged and upheld as the highest standard.
Senator Usman made the call to mark this year’s children`s day.
Writing on her official X handle she noted the need to build a “nation and a world where honesty is not an exception but the standard, where empathy guides policy, and where service to humanity is the highest calling.”
She also urged parents, teachers, leaders and others to reflect on what is passed onto posterity, as she observed that, that way the next generation will not only dream but have the tools and conviction to build those dreams into reality.
The acting national chairman stated, “Today, as we celebrate the joy, innocence, and boundless potential of our children, I extend my heartfelt wishes to every young soul whose dreams and hopes light up our future. As a mother and a leader, I am deeply reminded of the sacred duty we owe our children to nurture, guide, and inspire them to become the very best version of themselves.
“Children are not only the leaders of tomorrow; they are also the mirror through which society is judged. What we model today, they will replicate tomorrow. That is why it is imperative now more than ever that we, as adults, choose to live lives of purpose, integrity, and legacy.
“Our actions, values, and choices must speak louder than words. We must strive to build a nation and a world where honesty is not an exception but the standard, where empathy guides policy, and where service to humanity is the highest calling. A life well lived is one that lights the path for others to follow.
“Let us commit to creating environments where children feel safe, valued, and empowered. Let us leave behind footprints that inspire courage, hard work, truth, and hope.
Happy Children’s Day once again. May our children grow in wisdom, strength, and compassion. A life well lived is one that lights the path for others to follow.”
