A training aircraft at the International Aviation College, Ilorin, Kwara State, reportedly crashed on Friday evening with no death recorded.

The incident reportedly happened at the Runway 5 of the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin.

The aircraft was said to have veered off the runway and stopped on the grass verge.

It was gathered that two persons — a trainee and an instructor — were on training practical when the aircraft crash-landed.

The duo were said to be seriously injured and have since been taken to a hospital.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, in its reaction, said it had commenced an investigation into the incident.

In a statement by the bureau’s Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, Bimbo Oladeji, a team would be deployed from Abuja to Ilorin to conduct on-site investigations.
