Arsenal battle Juve for Ademola Lookman

Date:

Arsenal have officially joined the growing list of European clubs vying to sign Nigeria international Ademola Lookman from Italian side Atalanta, according to reports from Sky Sport DE’s Florian Plettenberg.

The Gunners are in advanced talks with agents and clubs as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming transfer window, which opens on July 1. While Real Madrid forward Rodrygo remains Arsenal’s primary target, Lookman’s versatility has made him an attractive alternative.

Atalanta’s sporting director, Giovanni Berta, is reportedly engaged in numerous discussions regarding Lookman’s future, with Italian sources suggesting the club will entertain offers exceeding €40 million for the 27-year-old winger.

Lookman, who has had a stellar season with 20 goals and 7 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions, could feature for Atalanta in their upcoming Serie A clash against Parma, potentially marking his final game for the club.

The former Everton and RB Leipzig forward has also attracted interest from Juventus, though the Turin giants have several other attackers on their radar, including Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the battle for Lookman’s signature is expected to intensify among top European clubs eager to secure the talented forward’s services.
