Salah Confident of Ballon d’Or Win After Leading Liverpool to Title

Date:

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has declared that this year presents his “best chance” to win the coveted Ballon d’Or following a phenomenal season that saw him help his club clinch the Premier League title under new manager Arne Slot.

Salah, 32, has been in scintillating form, scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists in the Premier League, making him a frontrunner in the Golden Boot race. His impressive stats and team success have elevated him to one of the top contenders for the Ballon d’Or, which will be awarded at a ceremony in Paris on September 22.

“I would say I never had a season like this and winning big trophies, so I would say this is my best chance to get it right now while I’m in the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy,” Salah told Sky Sports.

Having signed a two-year contract extension at Anfield in April, the Egyptian forward has solidified his commitment to Liverpool, further bolstering his standing among fans and pundits.

Salah, however, faces stiff competition for the Ballon d’Or from Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal and Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé, both of whom have also had remarkable seasons leading their teams to domestic league triumphs.

The Ballon d’Or, awarded annually to the world’s best footballer, is judged based on individual and team performances over the past season. Salah, a former runner-up and consistent nominee, is hoping this campaign’s success will finally earn him football’s most prestigious individual honour.
