Job Description

As the Head of Department for Midwifery, you will oversee the development and management of the Midwifery department at our upcoming nursing school.

This role requires strong leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of midwifery education, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of academic excellence and clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the midwifery curriculum in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Provide leadership and support to faculty members and administrative staff within the Midwifery department.

Ensure the integration of evidence-based practices and innovative teaching methodologies in midwifery education.

Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes professional growth and student success.

Requirements

Registered Midwife (RM) with a Master’s Degree in Midwifery or a related field. A PhD in Midwifery or Education is advantageous.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in midwifery education or clinical practice, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

PGD in Education is required.

Proven experience in curriculum development, program assessment, and faculty development within a midwifery education context.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
