Governor of Lagos State, Mr Jide Sanwoolu, today conducted an on-site visit to assess the ongoing construction of the Lagos State Mental Health Institute, Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Center in Ketu Ejirin, located in Epe Local Government Area.
The 1,000-bed facility, which spans approximately 25 hectares, will serve as a comprehensive rehabilitation center for individuals with mental health conditions.
The center will feature a range of services, including recreational and vocational programs, to ensure the full rehabilitation of those suffering from psychiatric illnesses.
Governor Sanwo-Olu announced that the first phase of the project, which includes 500 beds, is expected to be completed by the end of next year. The construction is currently 50 per cent complete.
