Annie Macaulay, the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, publicly confirmed their divorce at the 17th Headies Awards held on Sunday night.
The actress disclosed this when she took the stage alongside Farooq Oreagba — the widely admired “King of Steeze” from the 2024 Ojude Oba festival — to present the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year.
While introducing herself, Annie corrected herself, making it obvious she was taking back her maiden name, Macaulay.
“Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she said amid cheers from the audience.
Recall that when Annie resurfaced on social media in March, nearly two months after 2Baba publicly announced their breakup, she signed off with her full name, Annie Uwana Macaulay on Instagram noticeably excluding the “Idibia” name.
Her marriage to 2Baba, with whom she shares two children, ended in January 2025 when the singer publicly announced their separation.
Following this, 2Baba made a public proposal to his new fiancée, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru and has introduced her to his family and kinsmen in Benue State, sparking wedding rumours.
