Music legend and gospel icon, Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has quashed circulating rumours of his death in a lively video performance shared with his fans. The revered juju music maestro assured his followers that the reports of his passing were false and completely fabricated.
In a video posted on social media, Obey-Fabiyi, who has long been a fixture in the Nigerian music industry, joyfully sang in a mix of Yoruba, English, and Pidgin, confidently declaring his good health. The legendary musician further addressed the false news head-on, stating, “It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory. It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”
Rumours of Obey-Fabiyi’s alleged death had spread rapidly across social media, prompting an outpouring of condolences from his fans and well-wishers. However, his team quickly responded to the misinformation, with his associate, Tope Olukole, assuring the public of the music icon’s well-being.
