Police Announce Crisis Simulation Drill in Abuja, No Cause for Alarm

Date:

The Nigeria Police Force has issued a notice to residents of the Federal Capital Territory regarding a crisis response simulation exercise set to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

The exercise, organized in partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser, will occur near Idu Train Station from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the simulation is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the security forces’ preparedness in addressing security threats across the country.

“The Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to ensure security forces are well-equipped to respond effectively to security challenges in Nigeria,” the statement explained.

Residents are urged not to panic during the exercise, as it will include controlled explosive sounds to simulate real-life crisis scenarios.

The police reassured the public that the simulation is safe and aims to enhance emergency response capabilities without posing any actual danger.
