FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has reportedly adopted the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the forthcoming Rivers State Assembly Bye-elections, La Palabras learnt.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled Febuary 21 for the Ahoada-East and Khana Constituencies bye-elections.
According to the report, the former Rivers State Governor has directed his members to contest on the platform of the SDP, opening a renewed war with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, there is no official statement confirming this development by the FCT Minister at press time.
La Palabras can report that the FCT Minister might be losing his political weight in the state after Governor Siminalayi Fubara decamped from the PDP to the APC, making him the supposed leader of APC in the State.
Political commentators opine that Wike might be losing his political grip of the state, a development that has become a concern for his camp ahead of the governorship and State Assembly elections.
Recall that Wike in one of the “thank you” visits in the state claimed that there is no difference between the APC and the PDP in Rivers State.
