From Monday through Wednesday, many parts of Nigeria are likely to wake up to hazy mornings and bright afternoons as the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) predicts a blend of dust haze and sunshine across the country.
According to the outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, northern states — especially Kano and Kebbi — could see moderate dust haze with reduced visibility (about 2–5 km) early in the week, while other areas under the region will enjoy sunny but hazy skies.
In the central region, including the FCT and Niger State, the weather will mirror the north with lingering dust haze and bright sunshine.
Down south, skies are expected to be mostly sunny with some clouds, but afternoon or evening light rains and isolated thunderstorms could pop up in states like Bayelsa, Lagos, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom.
NiMet is reminding everyone — especially those with asthma or respiratory issues — to take it easy when dust levels rise, drive carefully when it rains, and keep an eye on official weather updates.
