Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a blockbuster €120 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, choosing to remain in Europe as top clubs circle for his signature.
Al Hilal, under new manager Simone Inzaghi, had made Osimhen their prime target ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The Saudi giants reportedly offered the Nigerian forward a staggering €40 million per year in a three-year deal. However, Osimhen, 26, declined the lucrative deal, marking the third time he has turned down interest from the Middle Eastern side.
“The offer was quite impressive but ultimately did not convince the player,” reported French outlet Foot Mercato, adding that Osimhen has chosen to “take his time before choosing his next club.”
According to Italian publication Calciomercato, Al Hilal’s previous offers of €30m and €35m per year were also turned down by the Napoli forward, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria.
Close associate Onyebuchi Onokala confirmed the latest development on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal first offer. It was the same offer they made last year.”
Interest in Osimhen remains high across Europe. Turkish champions Galatasaray, where Osimhen previously impressed with 37 goals in 41 matches during a loan spell, have reportedly tabled a €26 million per year salary proposal. The club is said to be undeterred by his release clause.
A top Italian club has also entered the fray, reportedly “ready to pay Victor what he wants in wages,” according to sources.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that while Napoli and Al Hilal had agreed on a €75 million transfer fee, Osimhen declined the move, leaving the race for his signature wide open.
“Galatasaray will insist on signing him,” Romano wrote, as the summer transfer window heats up.
