Senator Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central in the eighth National Assembly has declared that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El Rufai, weaponised poverty in northern Nigeria.
He also queried the intention behind recent criticisms against the President Bola Tinubu administration launched by ex-transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi and El Rufai.
Senator Sani in his latest statement to Lapalabras.com said both men were part of a government that made Nigerians more hungry, and created insecurity in the nation.
He also described the former Kaduna State governor as the patriarch of bandits and godfather of insecurity in Nigeria, adding that as governor, El Rufai weaponised and spread poverty in the country.
“The Government which El-Rufai and Amaechi served were the precipitators and enablers of hunger and insecurity.
El-Rufai is the patriarch of banditry and the Godfather of insecurity in Northern Nigeria.”
According to him, the former Kaduna governor was too toxic to serve in Tinubu`s government, a situation that resulted in his verbal attacks against the administration.
“El-Rufai’s attacks on Tinubu is an expression of anger over exclusion and a failed sense of entitlement.
“No Government has weaponised and spread poverty in Nigeria than the Government of Elrufai’s.
“They accused Tinubu of weaponising poverty, the very people who served the previous government that left over 163 million Nigerians living below the poverty line.
“He sacked thousands of workers, demolished homes of poor people, taxed the most vulnerable. El-Rufai and his fellow travellers have no moral standing to talk about poverty and insecurity.
El-Rufai’s Government was a pandemic of evil and bloodshed.”
