The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement released by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and in the diaspora, urging them to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to people-oriented reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He said the administration remains focused on restoring Nigeria to the path of progress and national development.
While extending best wishes for a joyful and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha, the Minister called on all Nigerians to unite behind the present administration in its quest to reposition Nigeria as a truly great nation.
