The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, John Nwosu, has pledged that his administration will pursue transparency, accountability, inclusivity and sustainable development.
Speaking on Monday at the party headquarters in Abuja after receiving the certificate of return for the November poll, in the presence of members of ADC National Working Committee (NWC), Nwosu said he is “obligated to listen to your voices, uphold your rights, and work tirelessly to deliver the dividends of democracy to every corner of our dear state.”
He described the event as a “huge moment,” adding that it’s not just a celebration of victory but a solemn call to duty.
“It is also a historical moment and a huge reminder that ADC delegates have entrusted us with their hopes, their dreams, and their future. We do not take this trust for granted.
“We are conscious of the needs and unmet needs of Ndi Anambra. As such we are committed to building a government anchored on transparency, accountability, inclusivity and sustainable development.
“We are obligated to listen to your voices, uphold your rights, and work tirelessly to deliver the dividends of democracy to every corner of our dear state.
“To all who supported this journey, we thank you. To those who did not, we extend a hand of fellowship. Now is the time to come together for the good of all, most especially for the good of Ndi Anambra. Today, the people of Anambra State have a credible alternative to the incumbent.”
On his part, the party chairman, Raph Nwosu, appealed to president Bola Tinubu to stop playing politics with Nigeria’s financial institutions.
He added that the action will affect both the democratic and economic state of the nation.
He insisted that this was the democracy the president Tinubu stood for in the 1990s.
Speaking on the forthcoming by-election, he also stressed that the ruling government should allow the votes of Nigerians to count .
