Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has released a new extended play (EP) titled “Lemon Chase”, marking a major step toward the arrival of his forthcoming album, Uncle K.
The seven-track project was officially unveiled on Thursday, with Christian Agadibe, CEO of Artmatazz Media—Kizz Daniel’s media outfit—confirming the release in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.
According to Agadibe, the Lemon Chase EP is more than just a musical release—it is an emotional journey capturing love, pain, peace, and joy. “Each track reflects a different piece of that emotional puzzle,” he said.
The EP kicks off with “Black Girl Magic” and ends with “Police”, a soulful collaboration featuring Johnny Drille of Mavin Records and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo. Other featured artists include Bella Shmurda, Odumodu Blvck, Zlatan, and Fola, each contributing unique sounds that complement Kizz Daniel’s versatile style.
Agadibe highlighted the impressive lineup of producers behind the project. Reward Beatz, Blaise Beatz, Magic Sticks, Bando, and Ayzed—all of whom have previously worked on chart-topping records with the singer—are credited for the EP’s distinct sound.
Track-specific production credits include:
-
“Eyo” and “Black Girl Magic” – Reward Beatz, Bando, Blaise Beatz
-
“Secure” and “Peace I Chose” – Blaise Beatz
-
“Titi” – Magic Sticks (produced), Reward Beatz and Blaise Beatz (co-produced)
-
“Al Jannah” – Ayzed
Speaking on the inspiration behind Lemon Chase, Kizz Daniel said, “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. I wanted this project to feel like real life—sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart, for when you’re healing, hoping or remembering.”
He added that Lemon Chase is a reflection of his growth, not just as a hitmaker but as a storyteller unafraid to explore raw emotions and uncomfortable truths.
The new EP sets the stage for the release of Uncle K, a deeply personal album expected to drop later in the year, continuing Kizz Daniel’s legacy as one of Nigeria’s most compelling music voices.
The full EP is now available on all major streaming platforms.
