Panel declares N’Central PDP congress free, fair

Date:

The Appeal Panel for the North-Central Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party has described the exercise as free, fair and credible.

Senator Sunday Marshal, the Chairman of the panel, made this statement during a news conference on Tuesday in Jos.

According to Marshal, the panel did not receive any petitions challenging the exercise.

“You will recall that last Saturday, the North-Central zone of our party held its congress.

“We were appointed earlier to serve as an appeal panel to entertain complaints that might arise from the outcome of the zonal congress.

“This is in line with the guidelines and constitution of the PDP; we have been on the ground since Sunday.

“But in the last 48 hours, we have not received any petitions challenging the outcome of the congress.

“This simply means that the exercise was free, fair and credible,” Marshal said.

The chairman urged party faithful in other zones to emulate the North-Central zone by ensuring their congresses are conducted peacefully and transparently.
