JUST IN: Uzodimma sacks Imo Attorney General

Date:

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the immediate dismissal of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, C.O.C. Akaolisa.

The announcement was made on Monday via an official statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba.

The statement directed Akaolisa to immediately hand over all government properties and official documents in his possession to the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

While no official reason was given for the removal, a government source told ‘The Nation’ that the governor reserves the right to appoint and remove any official at his discretion.
