Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has clinched the 2024/25 Premier League Golden Boot, scoring 29 goals to lead the league and end Erling Haaland’s two-year dominance of the award.
The Egyptian star capped off a remarkable season by helping Liverpool to the Premier League title while also finishing as the league’s top scorer and leading assist provider—a rare double achievement that further cements his legacy in English football.
Salah edged out Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, who netted 23 goals, and Manchester City’s Haaland, who managed 22 strikes after missing part of the campaign due to injury. Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood followed with 20 goals, while Brentford duo Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa scored 19 each.
Haaland, who had won the Golden Boot in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons with 36 and 27 goals respectively, was denied the chance to become only the third player in Premier League history to win the award three times consecutively. That rare feat remains exclusive to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry (2003–2006) and Newcastle icon Alan Shearer (1994–1997).
Salah now adds a third Golden Boot title to his collection, having previously topped the scoring charts in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. His latest triumph comes amid speculation about his long-term future at Anfield, further boosting his credentials as one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever forwards.
This season’s top 10 scorers also featured standout performances from Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (16 goals), Wolves’ Matheus Cunha (15) and Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer, who also scored 15.
As the 2024/25 Premier League season concludes, Salah’s consistency, playmaking, and lethal finishing once again underscore his immense value to Liverpool and to English football at large.
