President of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association in Abuja, (UNAA) Dim Emeka Obasi, has described the appointment of the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, as a round peg in a round hole.
Obasi who recently led a delegation of the association`s executives on a courtesy call to the AGF office underscored the need to use the Accountant General’s office in advancing the wellbeing of Nigerians and the restoration of the dignity of man.The UNAA President in Abuja who extoled the virtues of hard work, creativity and excellence which the Accountant General is known for, also urged him to extend the same virtues to support the association.
On his part, Mr Ogunjimi, an alumni of the University, narrated the contributions of the institution to his career, as he pledged to support developmental courses embarked upon by the school and the Abuja branch of UNAA.
Highlight of the visit was the investiture of medal of honour on the AGF for his dedicated service to the nation, as well as a recitation of the Alumni anthem by the delegation.Other members of the delegation include a former president of UNAA Abuja, Compol Dr Chris Atugokoh Aloha (rtd), and UNAA, Abuja vice president, Dr Monica Agu.
