The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) is thrilled to announce the D’Tigress Homecoming Tournament, taking place July 18–20, 2025, at Mo Arena, Abuja.
This marks the first time Nigeria’s women’s national basketball team will play on home soil after winning five straight AfroBasket titles and making history at the 2024 Olympics.
The tournament will feature D’Tigress, Togo, and a soon-to-be-announced team.
It serves as a warm-up for the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 in Ivory Coast and includes empowerment programs and basketball camps for young female players.
Mathew Ohio, CEO of El Carnival, said, “After hosting a welcome party in Paris, we knew we had to bring this celebration home. These women deserve the spotlight in Nigeria.”
Ugo Udezue, NBBF Sponsorship Chairman also, added: “This is a dream come true.
“Our president, Musa Kida, asked us to make it happen, and we’re excited for fans to meet these incredible players.”
With six WNBA players in the lineup, the D’Tigress squad is poised to deliver top-level action.
