Ignore Mischief-Makers, Stay Focused on Service — NANS Tells Seyi Tinubu

Date:

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has publicly declared its support for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to remain focused on his philanthropic efforts and to disregard mounting criticism from what it described as “political jobbers and clout-chasers.”

In a statement signed by the Senate President of NANS, Usman Adamu Nagwza, the student body lauded Seyi Tinubu’s contributions to youth development, humanitarian work, and nation-building, describing them as “nothing short of laudable.”

Nagwza noted that recent attempts to vilify Seyi Tinubu in the media were undeserving of any dignified response. “The brilliance of a man whose heart beats for the people cannot be dimmed by naysayers,” he stated.

According to NANS, the criticisms leveled against Seyi are politically motivated and lack substance. “You cannot rewrite the truth with propaganda, nor can you derail a destiny anchored in service and goodwill,” the statement read. “Mr. Seyi Tinubu has immortalized his name while still living and has done so while shaping destinies, uplifting lives, and creating legacies that will outlive transient controversies.”

On behalf of Nigerian students nationwide, NANS extended gratitude to Seyi Tinubu for what it termed his consistent advocacy for youth empowerment and social upliftment. “Continue your good works, for history shall be kind to you,” Nagwza said.

Addressing ongoing tensions within the student body, NANS clarified that the recent leadership dispute involving Isah Abubakar bore no connection to Seyi Tinubu. “The internal brouhaha within NANS is a purely domestic affair and has no linkage to Mr. Seyi Tinubu,” the group emphasized.

Describing Seyi Tinubu as “an altruist par excellence,” the statement praised his humility and accessibility despite his privileged background. “Rather than recline in the ceremonial glory of the presidency’s corridors, he has stooped to serve, lifted others, and become a beacon of hope for thousands of young people.”

NANS concluded by calling for an end to what it sees as unjustified attacks, urging Nigerians to celebrate, rather than malign, individuals who dedicate themselves to public service.
