A woman simply identified as Gift in her early 40’s has been arrested and detained by operatives of Nkpolu Police Division in Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State after she allegedly chopped off part of her male lover’s genital, identified simply as Sunday at Bishop Okoye street, Mile 3 Diobu Port Harcourt.
The incident which happened on Thursday, began when the male lover of the suspect requested sex from her, but she refused him on the grounds that he has taken sex enhancing drugs.
Our correspondent learnt that the lovers’ altercation resulted in the male partner allegedly resorting to physical beating the woman.
The woman in retaliation, bit her lover’s genital and chewed off part of it.
A source in the neighborhood who pleaded anonymity revealed that neighbours who were attracted to the scene by a loud scream by Mr Sunday met him bleeding in pain.
It was learnt that the timely intervention of the Divisional Police Officer of Nkpolu Police Division and his men, that saved the suspect from a mob that wanted to lynch her.
The male lover was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko when contacted confirmed the incident.
She said “Yes I can confirm the incident. The woman (suspect) aged 43 years has been arrested. Investigation is ongoing”.
